Thursday evening, January 6, the sounds of a 3 piece jazz band, food and refreshments welcomed the Treasure Coast State legislative delegation, Senator Ken Pruitt, Representatives Joe Negron, and Gayle Harrell along with the St. Lucie County Commissioners, Joseph Smith, Paula Lewis, and Francine Hutchinson, and St. Lucie County Tax Collector, Bob Davis, to a reception on the veranda of the County Courthouse honoring these elected officials for their contribution in funding our Treasure Coast courts and law libraries. SLCBA co-sponsored the event with Friends of the Law Library and the Pt St Lucie Bar. Speakers included Chief Judge of the 19th Circuit William Roby; State Senator Ken Pruitt, State Representative Joe Negron, and Saint Lucie County Commissioner Francine Hutchinson. Judges in attendance along with the Honorable William Roby were the Honorable Ben Bryan, Circuit Judge, and the Honorable Rupert J. Smith, Circuit Judge, retired. |
